Sørhøy

Ann Mari Sørhøy is a Norwegian painter, sculpturer and photographer. 

The design concept for her website was conceived from a desire to explore a new way of experiencing artwork. A way that combines familiar elements from physical art galleries with a digital experience. The best of two worlds. 

The website was developed following the circulation logic of an art gallery: You walk among white surfaces with carefully placed pieces. You enter a room, you perceive all the works and quickly get a sense of the mood of the collection. If a particular piece catches your interest, you walk towards it and study it closer. A label appears, revealing the title and more information about the piece.
Most websites are navigated vertically.  Sørhøy’s website is navigated horizontally, just like in a physical art gallery.
